Tom Joyner was born in Tuskegee and graduated with a degree in Sociology. While at Tuskegee, he became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. In 1985, Tom worked at 2 radio stations – Dallas in the morning and Chicago in the afternoon. This schedule earned him the nicknames “The Fly Jock” and “The Hardest Working Man in Radio”. Tom has been a big supporter of Tuskegee University and HBCUs as a whole. Since 1998, the Tom Joyner Foundation has raised more than $65 million to help students enrolled in HBCUs. Upon retiring, Tom declared, “… for the next two years we’re going to reminisce, go down Memory Lane and talk about all the things we’ve done for the past 25 years”. Farewell Tom! See you Saturday,
