Congratulations to AriAnna Thomas, the daughter of Amanita Thomas, who was crowned Ms. Phi Beta Sigma!  See pics.  AriAnna is the current Junior Class President and the 2021 RDTAC Scholarship recipient.

Good Sunday RDTAC:

Per yesterday’s meeting, the following is additional information:

1. The 2nd annual Black College World Series will be held in Montgomery, AL on May 11-15, 2022.  Please see the link https://blackcollegenines.com/montgomery-alabama-to-host-2022-hbcus-black-college-world-series/ for more information.
2. The 2022 SIAC Basketball Tournament is scheduled for February 28 – March 5, 2022 at Rock Hill Sport & Event Center in Rock Hill, SC.  The official schedule will be released later this month.  The men’s team is currently 13-10, 9-5 SIAC and the women’s team is 18-3, 12-2 SIAC

1. Tuskegee University’s 130th Annual Farmers Conference is being held, via Zoom, February 15-17, 2022 with various speakers.  Please see the attached information from Raymon Shange. [Contact RDTAC for attachment]
2. Fred Smith’s apartment complex, Treeo Raleigh,  is hosting a program for Black History Month.  Lillie Head, a native of Tuskegee and a Tuskegee Institute graduate, will be speaking at 1:00 pm on February 23, 2022.  Lillie Head is the daughter of Freddie Lee Tyson, an unwilling participant in Tuskegee Syphilis Study.  Fred is inviting all TU Alumni.  [Contact RDTAC for address]
3. Tuskegee University’s National Center for Bioethics in Research and Health Care is hosting a webinar on February 24, 2022 from 3-4 pm EST, The Fierce Urgency of Now:  Policy Action Needed to Address HIV/AIDS in the Black Community.  Please see the attached email. [Contact RTDAC for attachment]

Happy Black History Month RDTAC:

February is a month to celebrate Black History and Love.  One of my favorite t-shirts that I own says, “Tuskegee University – We Are Black History”.  Those words are significant in February, as well as the other 11 months of the year.  I hope each of you attends at least one event this month that celebrates our past, present and future.

RDTAC, the February meeting will be at 2:00 pm on the 12th.  The Agenda and the Zoom information will be sent next week.  Please plan to attend.  In the meantime, please see the attachment – Tuskegee University, Quick Facts, Fall 2021.
