Greetings RDTAC:
“It’s a bird! It’s a plane!” It’s the T-7A Red Hawk and it’s the name of the Air Force’s next-generation training jet. The name pays tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen, the first black military aviators who flew during World War II as part of the Army Corps, the precursor to the U.S. Air Force. The Tuskegee Airmen were known as “Red Tails” due to the red paint on their aircraft. The RDTAC is proud to dedicate the 2020 calendar to these prestigious men in American history. TU Alumni, calendars were distributed at the September meeting. At this point, we have already sold 100. RDTAC, please continue to sell calendars. Calendars are the RDTAC’s signature fundraiser, with proceeds going towards our endowment fund and scholarships. If any alumni need more calendars or would like to receive any, please contact Henry Wall – (919) 264-7259. We will have an update of inventory and calendar sales at the October meeting . . . The October RDTAC monthly meeting will be hosted by Gary and Alicia Wiley on October 12th at their home located at: 3200 Peachford Lane, Raleigh 27616 at 2-4 pm. Items on the agenda are:
Alumni, I have 1 available room at the Hampton Inn Auburn for homecoming at a rate of $103 per night. If anyone would like it, please contact me by October 12th. After that date, I will release it back to the hotel. For your information, Tuskegee plays Campbell University in Buies Creek on Friday, October 18th for an exhibition basketball game. I plan to attend. Let me know if you would like to attend as well. Perhaps we could have “caravan” and sell calendars. 😊 We will discuss at the meeting. Please come out for the business of Tuskegee University, good food and fellowship. Alicia F.
