Homecoming 101: The Renaissance
Happy TU Homecoming RDTAC! Unfortunately, I will not be attending this year. I've been traveling extensively this fall and decided to stay put. If any alumni are attending homecoming, please let me know. Thank You to all the members who donated & attended the Morehouse/TU Watch Party. Although TU lost the game, we still had a great time fellowshipping & connecting. Please see the pictures below with the President of the Morehouse Club, Terry L. Peterkin II, and the 2nd Vice President, Xavier Larkin. We're hoping to connect again during basketball season. RDTAC, the 2026 calendar is complete. We will be distributing them at the November meeting next Saturday, the 8th. We ask that every member take 10 calendars to sell or donate the $. Remember, this is how we raise money for the annual scholarship ($1,000) and our endowment fund. The November RDTAC meeting will be at the Durham Library located at 300 N Roxbury Street, Durham, room 4347(4th floor) at 2:00 pm. The agenda and the Zoom link will be sent next week. After the meeting we are dining at Dame's Chicken & Waffles located at 455 S Driver Street, Durham, as always, to support black businesses. Please note the new address. The new site is larger and the parking is easier. Bring cash, as it will be 1 ticket for the entire group. Enjoy Homecoming and see you next Saturday! Alicia F. Wiley, ’94 & ‘97 President, Raleigh-Durham Tuskegee Alumni Club (RDTAC)

Even though Tuskegee did not come out victorious, the Raleigh-Durham Alumni Club and the Morehouse Triangle Alumni Association had a wonderful night of fun and fellowship this past weekend. We want to thank everyone who came out to watch the game. We'll get them back next year! 🏈
Happy October RDTAC,
Just a friendly reminder of the events this Saturday. The RDTAC meeting will be this Saturday, October 4th at 5:00-6:30pm at the home of Gary and Alicia Wiley, [Contact RDTAC For Address] The agenda is attached. The main item is approval of the 2026 Calendar. For those who cannot attend in person, the Zoom link is as follows: [Contact RDTAC For Zoom Link] The watch party of the TU/Morehouse game will be after the meeting at 7:00 pm. Please see the attached flyer. The SpellHouse alumni have indicated that they will have 10-15 in attendance. The RDTAC will probably have about the same numbers, making the total 25-30. The RDTAC is donating barbecue & fried fish and SpellHouse has agreed to donate sides & deserts. Again, we are asking for donations(either $ or food) from the RDTAC alumni. We don't want to use any unbudgeted $ from the checking account, as we still have the 2026 calendar to publish and dues to send to the TNAA. Lastly, this is your last opportunity to pay your dues before they are sent to the TNAA for the 2026-2027 year. 2026 is an election year for the TNAA. If you are not financial, you will not be able to vote. Dues are $75.00 (single) or $130.00 (couple) and can be mailed to: [Contact RDTAC For Address] or Cash App See you Saturday and wear your TU paraphernalia! Alicia F. Rep your alma mater, connect with fellow alumni and enjoy one the biggest HBCU football matchups of the year. Good afternoon RDTAC,
Although I was born in November, my favorite month has always been September. Why? Colleges and schools are back in session; the night air is just a bit cooler and its FOOTBALL TIME. Congratulations to the Golden Tigers for winning their season opener against Winston-Salem State at the Red Tails Classic on Sunday! It's nice to be 1-0. I sincerely hope everyone had a nice summer break. Now it is time to get back to work serving Mother Tuskegee and September & October are going to be busy. Here we go...

After the meeting, we are hosting a watch party for the TU vs Morehouse game at 7:30 pm. The Morehouse Club is excited to fellowship with us, as they loose another rivalry game. The game starts at 8:00 pm. Food logistics will be discussed at the September meeting. Please visit the RDTAC website to see the updated pictures of your President attending the Southeastern Region 65th Biennial Conference in July in Columbus, GA and the 2025 RDTAC Scholarship recipient-Morgan Wiley. A special thanks to Princess for stepping up as our new "Hadiya" and Michael Robinson for stepping up to present the check on behalf of Agatha Carroo. It truly takes a village. RDTAC, we currently have a vacancy in the Secretary position. Amanita Thomas stepped down in June for personal reasons. Amanita did a wonderful job, and we thank her for her service. Please let me know if you would like to serve in this position. Again, it takes a village. Lastly, DUES ARE DUE NOW. Melvin McCain, the treasurer, is preparing to mail the check this month to the TNAA for all members who have paid. Dues are $75.00 (single) or $130.00 (couple) and can be mailed to: Melvin McCain [Contact RDTAC For Address] My apologies for the long email, but we have been on vacation for 3 months. Happy June RDTAC, Juneteenth is a US federal holiday celebrated annually on June 19th to commemorate the ending of slavery. The name, first used in the 1890's, is a portmanteau of the words "June" and "nineteenth", referring to June 19, 1865. June 19th is the day Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas. Juneteenth became the first new federal holiday since Martin Luther King Jr. Day was adopted in 1983. RDTAC, although June is our "vacation" month, we are still quite busy! Below are the June updates:
Remember... "No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it" H.E. Luccock See you on June 20th! Blessings, Alicia F. Wiley, ’94 & ‘97 President, Raleigh-Durham Tuskegee Alumni Club (RDTAC) [email protected]
